—The Black Book of Patriarchy—

The Black Book of Patriarchy

full content: bit.ly/blackbookofpatriarchy

'Do you know what patriarchy is?'
'Are you affected by it?'
'Are you victimized?'

Patriarchy is a culture where hierarchical relation puts men and masculinity above women.
Patriarchy results in discrimination, oppression, objectification, stereotypes, and many others.

Raras and I created this project for Peace Studies class, bringing forward patriarchy as its theme.  Through this scrapbook, we want to capture patriarchy—a big narrative—from a more personal point of view to show just how patriarchy affects many different people in many different ways. Some becomes a direct victim, some are stuck in the paradigm of patriarchy as cultural and structural violence. Not only women, but also men could be victimized. We are trying to make more people understand how the term feminism and gender equality does not mean putting women above men, but rather, promoting the values of equality all human beings deserve.

For this project, we interviewed 14 students of IR UGM and remodeled some of their stories through poems and prose. Enjoy this project and spread the awareness.

With peace,
Heidira & Raras🌹

Aesthetic Exploration

Berawal dari broadcast promosi event di line, aku dan Binceng mengunjungi pameran seni untuk pertama kalinya di Jogja.

Art Exhibition
"Alicia is Non-Existent: Thus She Creates Herself."
By: Dion Nataraja & Adrian Paanday

Tempatnya di Institut Francais, Jalan Sagan No.3. Alhamdulillah, nggak nyasar (much). Dari awal memang berencana ke Institut Francais buat tanya-tanya tentang kurus Perancis. Eh, malah ada pameran.

Binceng fotografer berbakat.
Pameran ini bertema bullying. "Alicia is a fictional character created to tell the theme of this exhibition. She has been humiliated until she feels traumatized. However, she tried to cope with herself."

The art exhibition is made up of paintings and photographs.
Apparently, manager exhibition ini adalah Alanis Angelita, coincidentally my classmate in HI. Awesome!

I don't really understand art and am not an 'artsy' or 'hipster' person, but I'm so glad I came to this art exhibition.

last holiday review!

Hi people on blogger!

(I'm starting to hate myself for almost abandoning my blog)
The thing is, I wanted to post something but apparently my internet connection prevents me from uploading pictures. Which is sucks, because I wanna share my holiday story!

Semester-holiday 2013-2014

Alhamdulillah, the loooong days of school came to a temporary end. The long-awaited holiday was coming! These are the things I did!

Visiting the Nusakambangan Island
So, like any other holidays I've ever had, I always go to my grandma's home, which is in Purwokerto, East Java. We were bored there so we decided to drive a few hours to Cilacap, a nearby city. In Cilacap we visited Teluk Penyu Beach (which is not so scenic, so I was disappointed) But it turned out that we can cross to Nusakambangan Island from there! So we hopped to a boat and tadaaah!
Eastern Nusakambangan (not where the prison is) is so quiet, there weren't many tourist there. It's not a popular tourist destination, and it's kind of stranded in the middle of nowhere, but it's gorgeous. There were caves, forts from Dutch era, and Beaches. To reach those places we must walk for approx.15mins from the shore. But instead of walking we decided to ride this rickety vehicle through the woods. The lands were going uphill and downhill just like in a off-road tracks. It felt kind of challenging!
And then we arrived at the beach!!
Afterwards, we went back to Teluk Penyu and bought some souvenirs:D

Last day of 2013 and New Year's Eve

On the New Year's Eve, me and Tania went to mbak Della's sweet17 birthday party! Its a little awkward because it was our first time going aaannd we were the only 10th graders so yeah :"
But it was quite fun!

Quick Review: Singapore Trip

Hi guys, it's been a long time since I last posted here. And now I'm going to tell you about my latest vacation/trip/adventure.
And this trip is not like the usual trips I've had. Because this time........I'm going to Singapore. Yeah. Probably not that amazing. But to me, it's a wholefully new experience. And I was so excited.
So here it is!!

Day 1: 25th of October 2012.
I went home early from school because my plane left at 4PM. And then I went home to packed up, then went straight to Juanda.
Passport and Boarding Pass
Bored on Plane.

Finally, we arrived at Changi Airport around 6PM and I was automatically amazed. Seriously, everything looked different. It even has drinking water stations, the one looked like washtable? Yeah. Amazing.

Out of Changi, we ordered a cab and went to our rented apartment near Orchard. After setting up all of our belongings there (which only consist of one luggage and one backpack), we strut around Orchard, one of the World's most famous street.
A building in Orchard

Beautiful futuristic fountain.

And then we went to MRT station to go to Raffles Park.

Lets go!

Ticket booth for MRT. So modern.

After that, we walked around and took a few photos.

Lovestruck by the car
The tall buildings

After some hours of walking, we got really tired and decided to go back to apartment, midnight already.
The next day, we went to....Universal Studio! I was so excited cause I always admired this amusement park, and it felt like a dream to be there. :3 Let me tell you, that place is so damn amazing. I especially love the coasters: The  Revenge of The Mummy(roller coaster in the dark) and Battlestar Galatica(I cant even describe it because its soooo amazing). I also love the Transformers 4D ride. Reviews: This is..........heaven for people who seeks adrenaline pumps and funs.

Breakfast first! (the foods are not yummy, and expensive!)

Entrance

After riding the Battlestar Galactica.

The New York zone. Someday Ill be in the real New York. AAMIIN.

We didn't enter, I can assure you that.

After we left the Universal Studio, we went to VivoCity for foods. Then, to Mustafa Center and Lucky Plaza to hunt souvenirs. Next Day? We went to Berasbasah for a little amount of time because we needed to go to airport. So....this is our morning walks, and then we went to Airport to go home.

Victoria Street

Beautiful decor, it can moves and create a pattern.

Angry Birds fevers are everywhere. Beware.

Changi.

There is even a cactus garden!

THINGS INDONESIA SHOULD LEARN FROM SINGAPORE.

-Changi is the most awarded airport in the whole world. So, it's very magnificent. There's even a sky train to connect Terminal 1, 2, and 3. IMAGINE THAT. It would be amazing if Indonesia had an airport like that. Seriously, Changi looks like a mansion with carpeted floor, parks, and etc.

-The transportation is amazing in Singapore. There's no crowded road. There is no 'angkot' or another nosy transportations. Everything is controlled. The buses were fast, there are types of buses for example: the two floor bus. (like in London!)
And we dont have to wait for long for the MRTs to come, they come every 6-10 minutes. The MRTs are full AC, fast, and economic.
Plus, the pedestrian walks are very neat, designed very finely. Pedestrians can walk savely, cross the road savely(thanks to the automatic traffic light)

-The city is SO DAMN CLEAN. Seriously, nothing is out of place, and no litter can be found in unright places. This is magnificent.

*Actually there are a lot more I want to tell you about Singapore, as well as there are so many things I want to comment to. And more comparison between our beloved city and Singapore.
But the post is going to be soooo long if I do that.

So, this is the end of my post.
Gracias for reading and stay tune for more posts!

Adios,
Heidira-future world explorer.

First and Second Weekends of October

HELLO EVERYONE!
*silence*
PEANUUTS! (baca: KACAAANG!)
Oke maaf. Maklum nih baru selesai UTS mwa-ha-ha jadi agak agak gimana gitu ya hm-_-
Talking about UTS, bete banget Fisikaku gak dapet 100 ngh salah 1, betee-_- #curhat
Oke stop. aku mau cerita nih tapi maybe it will sounds plain and downright boring so I guess you can do whatever you pleased to do. (ignorant Dira mode: on)

SO.
The first weekend of October this year, I went to Jember for an East Java-Bali Biology Olympiad. Lemme tell ya something: it was REALLY hard. At the end, our team (me, Adra and Rizkia) got the 6th place :'D It's okay though, we tried our hardest.

Okay! Days went on and we're on the 2nd week of October! This time we were going to Purwokerto (again!!)
So. It was actually just A day before UTS so I wasnt really excited, but I tagged along anyway. And the saturday night my fams and I along with my parents' friends were havin something kind of a camping. Without tents.
My sis and I were sleeping in the car. With the backseat flipped so we sorta got cozy. The adults? Well they were sleeping outside with just a mat. (Trust me, it was freezin. Doesnt matter though, they all are ex-'Pecinta Alam')
The next morning, me, sis, mum, and her friend (idk her name hehe) went to a little waterfall somewhere near the 'camping ground'. Yes it was small but the view is beautiful. Not the most beautiful waterfall, though.

UNFORTUNATELY I was kind of in a badmood so my shoots are SUCKS. SHAME ON ME RIIIIIGHT.
Anyway, check them out. *hide*
